getting approved
All distance education providers that post course listings on
AddictionEd.org must meet the following criteria.
- Course sponsors must be one of the following: An accredited institution
of higher education; A U.S. government agency or
contractor; or approved by NAADAC (The National
Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors) OR
IC&RC (The International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium) OR
another comparable accrediting body.
- Course sponsors must submit evidence of meeting their
designated criteria. For example, a course sponsor could submit a NAADAC
provider number or the name of their organization’s accreditation authority.
- Course sponsors must consent to a disclaimer, which
explains that course listings on AddictionEd.org are a public service, and
that the ATTC Network neither endorses nor is responsible for the courses
listed.
- Course sponsors must have easy-to-navigate Web sites
with course information that is easy to find.
Courses listed on AddictionEd.org must meet the
following requirements.
- Courses must be available in one or more of these
formats: online, compressed video, teleconference, CD-ROM,
correspondence/e-mail
- Each course must provide academic or continuing
education credit
- Course information must identify the
faculty/instructor, including a biographical sketch
- Course content must be evidence-based and include
references to relevant scientific literature
- Course information must not be in conflict with
current U.S. Government policies
