1993
SAMHSA funds 11 Addiction Training Centers (ATC).
COVERAGE: 19 U.S. states and Puerto Rico. SAMHSA expands the program to cover six additional states in 1995.

1996
SAMHSA renames the program, now known as the Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC).

1998
SAMHSA refunds and extends the program. The ATTC Network now consists of 13 Regional Centers and a National Office.
COVERAGE: 39 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

1998
ATTC Network publishes The Addiction Counseling Competencies: Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes of Professional Practice– CSAT Technical Assistance Publication #21.

2000
ATTC Network publishes The Change Book: A Blueprint for Technology Transfer.

2002
SAMHSA refunds and extends the program. The ATTC Network now consists of 14 Regional Centers and a National Office.
COVERAGE: the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Pacific Islands.
